Abdul Mumin Issah reinstated MCE for Sekondi-Takoradi

Abdul Mumin Issah was suspended in February after spending one night in police custody for a road traffic offence and alleged assault of a police officer

Abdul Mumin Issah has been reinstated as the chief executive for the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, a letter signed by Dan Botwe, the Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development has said.

“I wish to inform you that H. E. the President of the Republic in response to recommendations made by the Western Regional Coordinating Council, has given approval for the reinstatement of Mr Abdul Mumin Issah as the Metropolitan Chief Executive for the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly,” the letter addressed to the Western Regional Minister said.

Issah was suspended in February after spending one night in police custody for a road traffic offence and alleged assault of a police officer

Police in the Western Region on Thursday (3 February 2022) arrested Issah for an alleged motor traffic offence, verbal assault and offensive conduct against a police officer.

He was arraigned in court.

The court granted him a GHC100,000 bail on one charge and a self-recognisance bail on the other.
He was granted bail after spending one night in police custody.
