Zoomlion distances itself from mining equipment found at galamsey sites
Zoomlion Ghana has urged the public and regulatory bodies to disregard any suggestions of its involvement, calling such associations false and misleading

Zoomlion Ghana Limited has issued a strong public disclaimer after reports emerged linking equipment branded with the name “Zoomlion” to illegal mining operations across parts of the country.
In a statement released Friday (25 April), the waste management and environmental services company clarified that it has no involvement in, nor does it support, any form of illegal mining — commonly referred to in Ghana as “galamsey”.
The company stressed that it neither owns nor authorises the use of any machinery for mining purposes, adding that the equipment reportedly seen at illegal mining sites bears the “Zoomlion” name because it is produced by a Chinese firm, Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd, which is completely unaffiliated with Zoomlion Ghana.
“This manufacturer is entirely independent of and unaffiliated with Zoomlion Ghana Limited,” the statement read.
Zoomlion Ghana has urged the public and regulatory bodies to disregard any suggestions of its involvement, calling such associations false and misleading.
The company also called for vigilance against misrepresentation and reaffirmed its commitment to legal and environmentally responsible operations.
