There is lack of creativity in our films, says Susan Peters

The actress said there is also a lot of unprofessionalism in the movie industry and this is affecting production

Susan Peters, a Nollywood actress has bemoaned the lack of creativity in the current film industry.
She believes there has been some copy pattern in films produced in recent times.

According to the actress, films being produced these days lack some originality, a situation she describes as unprofessional.

Speaking on Asaase Café with Caroline Sampson, Susan Peters said: “people don’t really put a lot of effort like we used to. There’s been a lot of copy as well.

“Those days we used to a lot of original stories, I mean back to back to roots but nowadays they try to copy each other,” Peters said.

The actress added that there is a need for African filmmakers to revisit the old style of storytelling with a fusion of modern creativity to boost the industry.

She said, “I think we can do better, the market is very big with Netflix, Amazon, DStv and a whole lot with other stations. I think we should go back to the African stories and stick to it.”
