Police arrest MCE for Sekondi-Takoradi

Abdul-Mumin Issah is alleged to have driven dangerously while approaching a police snap checkpoint at Kwesimintsim Cemetery on Wednesday (2 February)

Police in the Western Region on Thursday (3 February 2022) arrested Abdul-Mumin Issah, the metropolitan chief executive for Sekondi-Takoradi, for an alleged motor traffic offence, verbal assault and offensive conduct against a police officer.

He has been charged on three counts.

A statement by the Western Regional Police Command said that “the MCE has been charged with three counts of assault on a public officer, offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace and disturbing the peace in a public place”.

He is expected to be arraigned before the court on Friday 4 February 2022.
