Woman sets fire inside Alpha Hour church auditorium, CCTV captures incident

CCTV footage has captured the moment a woman entered the auditorium of Grace Mountain Ministry, popularly known as the Alpha Hour church, poured petrol and set chairs near the altar on fire, the church’s head pastor, Pastor Elvis Agyemang, has disclosed.

Speaking during the church’s dawn Alpha Hour prayers, Pastor Agyemang said the incident occurred inside the main auditorium and was recorded by the facility’s surveillance cameras.

According to him, the woman gained access to the premises, approached the altar area, poured a flammable liquid believed to be petrol on chairs and set them ablaze before the fire was detected.

The footage, he said, shows the act unfolding inside the church hall.

It is unclear what motivated the attack.

Church officials said the fire was quickly brought under control, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the auditorium and averting major damage or injuries.

No casualties were reported.

Grace Mountain Ministry, widely known for its online and dawn prayer sessions dubbed “Alpha Hour,” attracts thousands of worshippers both physically and virtually.
