Wizkid gets ready to wow Ghana
Tonight’s “Wizkid in Accra” concert follows sold-out performances by the Afrobeats star in Paris, New York and Amsterdam

The name is Wizkid. And the Nigerian Afrobeats superstar will be thrilling music fans in Ghana tonight playing to a capacity audience lining up for a concert at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Wizkid made history last year by becoming the first African artist to sell out three shows in a row at the O2 Arena in London on the UK leg of his Made in Lagos tour.
Tonight, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun – popularly known as Wizkid – will set another record here in this country, as he prepares to stage his first-ever headline concert in Ghana, and becomes the first solo artist to sell out the Accra Sports Stadium overnight.
The “Wizkid in Accra” concert is the launch event for the December in Ghana 2022 season of art exhibitions, club nights, festivals, parties and tours marking the latest stage of the global African celebration of Beyond the Return.
Asaase is among media organisations supporting tonight’s performance by the 32-year-old talent.
The Afro Nation concerts at Black Star Square on 29 and 30 December also promise block-busting appearances by Stonebwoy, Tiwa Savage, Skepta, Gyakie, Black Sherif, Kuami Eugene, Camido, Meek Mill, P-Square and a host of other artists.
“Yeah, Yeah”
The Grammy-winning singer (for “Brown Skin Girl” with Beyoncé) comes to Accra fresh from sold-out appearances at the Accor Arena in Paris, Madison Square Garden in New York and the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
He will be performing new tunes from his imminent album, “More Love, Less Ego”, as well as greatest hits from “Ginger” to “Ojuelegba”.
Sources close to the organisers of the concert hint at appearances on stage with the “Yeah, Yeah” man by Darkovibes, Efya, fellow crooners Kelvyn Boy and King Promise, Gyakie and the kings of Tema – R2bees.
The “Wizkid Live” night will leave an indelible mark on the minds of more than 40,000 music lovers.
