West Mamprusi: 30-year-old herbalist arrested for assaulting patient

A 30-year-old herbalist, Iddrisu Basiru, was arrested by the West Mamprusi Municipal police command for allegedly assaulting a 28-year-old woman seeking treatment at his residence in Zangum.

According to Musah Asia, the victim, she informed her parents about Basiru’s maltreatment and expressed her desire to travel to Accra and return. Following this, Basiru allegedly assaulted Asia and caused harm to her face.

The woman, who is a mother of two, after the assault, reported the case to the Ghana Police Service West Mamprusi Municipal Command for his arrest.

The herbalist, Iddrisu Basiru, was arrested on Saturday (27 September 2025), who was sent to the Walewale police charge office for investigations.

The West Mamprusi Municipal police command has declined to comment, citing an ongoing investigation into the matter.
