Jupitar slams Ghana’s media over lack of support

In a series of tweets, Jupitar slammed the media, calling them hypocrites and claimed that artistes from lesser-known tribes are not given enough exposure

Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artiste, Michael Okine, popularly known as Jupitar, has expressed concern over the lack of support from the Ghanaian media regarding his career.

In a series of tweets, Jupitar slammed the media, calling them hypocrites and claimed that artistes from lesser-known tribes, particularly Ga people, such as himself, receive insufficient exposure.

“If you are a Ga, nothing you can do to impress them,” he tweeted.

One of his tweets also suggested that all artistes deserve equal publicity to stay relevant.

“Hypocrites… We all need that energy and support….. or why are some of us not Ghanaians? Fake industry,” he added.

He has also reacted to Joy Prime TV’s announcement of Stonebwoy’s performance at Sting Jamaica, indicating that he was the first Ghanaian artiste to perform at the reggae show, but the media failed to give him the needed publicity.

“I was the first Ghanaian artiste to ever grace this stage, and the media was mute about it. I remember last year I had an event and @Hitz1039FM and some foolish boy made some foolish statement and yet they refused to acknowledge all the great achievements… God, go punish you people.”

In all of these, Jupitar believes that “you can’t keep a good man down.”

Sting Jamaica is a great one-night reggae and dancehall show held in Jamaica. It brings great artistes across the globe together.
