NLA outdoors ultramodern lotto drawing machines
The procurement of the new lotto drawing machines is to improve the efficiency of the NLA and catch up with modern trends in the lottery sector
The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has outdoored four new ultra-modern lotto drawing machines to replace the existing ones that have been used for several decades.
The procurement of the new lotto drawing machines is to improve efficiency and catch up with modern trends in the lottery sector. Aside from the launch of the machines, the NLA also relaunched the VAG lotto games as well as a new studio at its office premises.
Speaking to attendees of the launch held at the National Lottery Authority on Tuesday, 1 August,2023 , the Director-General of the NLA Sammi Awuku said, the Authority procured the state of the art random number generator (RNG) machine to improve its services to her clients and to bring the NLA abreast with global trends in the industry.
He noted that the introduction of the new machines will not change the game format, and neither will it change the dynamics. The only actual change is the introduction of the new machines.
Security Partnership
The NLA boss, Sammi Awuku, in his address, explained why the authority decided to collaborate with the Ghana Armed Forces under the Veterans Administration of Ghana lotto game.
“I can confidently tell you that since we had this partnership with them (Military), the NLA pays almost GHc140, 000 every month to support the military and to tale of our old veterans and the veterans who have laid down their lives in support and in defense of our country,” Sammi Awuku said.
Payment of Debts
Sammi Awuku also noted that the authority is on course to settle a debt of over GHāµ15 million in unpaid wins.
“We inherited a few debts when I became director general, almost Ghc 15 million. Today, we have brought it down to just [a little over 6 million], and this week, we are paying Ghc 3 million out of that, and within the next two weeks, we will clear all those outstanding debts,” Awuku stated.
Illegal lotto operators
Sammi Awuku also noted that the authorityās operation aimed at clamping down on illegal lotto operators in the country in on course and yielding positive results.
“We are also going to go tough on the illegal lotto operators. The NLA, together with the military, the Ghana Revenue Authority, and state enforcement agencies, are going to go after all these illegal operators,”
The grand launch has in attendance the Minister of Defence, Dominic Nitiwul, Board members, staff of the NLA, and a delegation from the Veterans Administration of Ghana.
