A Seven-member committee has been inaugurated for the upcoming Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Region ll Athletics Championship which will be held in Cape Coast from May 18th to 22nd.
The Board Chairman for National Sports Authority (NSA) Hon.Seth Panwum Boyoyo, on behalf of the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif inaugurated the local organizing committee for the confederation of Africa Athletics(CAA) Region ii, U-18, and U-20 championships.
In his opening remarks, he reaffirmed government support for developing sports at all levels including athletics.
The 7-member committee is made up of; M. Adjei Sowah – Chairman, Afia Serebour – Secretary, Jeffery Owusu – Member, Julius B. Apidogo – Member, Samuel T. Ayer – Member, Marc Dzradosi – Member, Bawah Fuseini – Member
The NSA Board chair congratulated the Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Adjei Sowah, former mayor of Accra, and his members for accepting to be members of the LOC.
“To me, this is a national duty call to serve our motherland. Even though the time is short, I do not doubt in my mind that with your experience you will make sure thy the championship is not only going to be a success, but team Ghana will win.”
“I am aware of the time limitation to your committee you have just a little more than a week to get this championship done but I also do know that the committee is made up of experienced and dedicated individuals who will make sure that you succeed.”
Also present at the meeting were, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare, Executive Chairman of the Accra 2023 local organizing committee, and Mr. Majeed Bawa, Dep. Director-General of the NSA.
