We must be measured in our utterances if we want to win 2028 elections — Frimpong Kodua to NPP members

Frimpong Kodua has called on NPP members to remain united and measured in their public statements if they hope to reclaim power in the 2028 general elections

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has called on members of the party to remain united and measured in their public statements if they hope to reclaim power in the 2028 general elections.

Speaking at the NPP headquarters during a short ceremony to receive a GHC1 million donation from former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, the General Secretary expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and morale-boosting.

“Your munificence, everybody can attest to it, and it’s one thing that is propelling and moving you around,” Kodua said to Agyapong. “If anyone mentions your name, they talk about the kind gesture and the munificence towards you. The party is very grateful to have people like you in our movement.”

He noted that the party has faced financial challenges since going into opposition and said the donation would go a long way in supporting its operations and lifting the spirits of the hard-working staff.

Kodua, however, used the opportunity to remind party faithful of the bigger picture—victory in the 2028 polls. He stressed the need for discipline in communication and unity of purpose within the party.

“Unity is what will prepare us to win the 2028 elections. And this should be the mantra; this should be the message all of us should carry across,” he said.

He also acknowledged the difficulties national executives face in trying to stay neutral and do what is right amidst various internal pressures. “Sometimes you attempt to stay neutral and make sure the right thing is done. People may misinterpret it. But if you have the party at heart, you’ll understand that contests are part of our process,” he added.

Kodua concluded with a powerful reminder: “Our enemy is not among us. Our opponent is not among us. Our enemy, our opponent, is the NDC. And our focus should be on them.”
