“We can no longer guarantee players’ safety”- Nsoatreman withdraw from Ghana Premier League over security concerns
According to reports, aggrieved supporters intend to retaliate after Asante Kotoko fan Francis Frimpong (Pooley) was stabbed to death during the Porcupines' clash with Nsoatreman on (2 February).

Nsoatreman Football Club have confirmed their withdrawal from the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League due to concerns over the security and safety of their players with 12 games left.
The Nsoatre-based club were scheduled to travel to Basake Holy Stars on Sunday (16 March) with the side placed 14th on the table.
Players have been asked to submit all club items including jerseys and kits when reporting to camp on Saturday.
“We can no longer guarantee the safety of our players, therefore, management and board of directors are left with no choice but to prioritize the safety and security of our players by withdrawing from the League.”-the club said in a statement.
“We regret any inconveniences this decision may cause.”
According to reports, aggrieved supporters intend to retaliate after Asante Kotoko fan Francis Frimpong (Pooley) was stabbed to death during the Porcupines’ clash with Nsoatreman on (2 February).
Pooley lost his life after being stabbed in Nsoatre during a brawl after a chaotic game involving players from both teams and some supporters.
The GFA imposed a ban on Nsoatreman FC from hosting matches at the Nana Koramansah Park after the incident.
