Kwara Katiu Juliana wins Miss Paga 2022 

Bagayire Awedaga Jacinta and Aweniga Wepiamo Dorithy also won the first and second runner-up respectively in the contest

A 20-year-old student, Kawara Katiu Juliana, has emerged winner of this year’s Miss Paga held at the Paga Motel. 

Kwara was crowned on Thursday (29 December 2022) after stiff competition from four other beautiful ladies. She scored 84. 23 points to win the contest. She also bagged the star performer on the night.

She received a brand new mapouka motorcycle from the organisers: Bossman Records, and a certificate of participation. 

The organisers, as part of her winning package, will also help her to execute her project which aims to tackle the rising cases of teenage pregnancies in the district.

The first runner-up went to Bagayire Awedaga Jacinta who garnered 80.93 points. Awedaga also won Miss Eloquent. For her prize, she took home a refrigerator.

Aweniga Wepiamo Dorithy and Kazue Charity secured the second and third runner up with 75.26 and 52.44 respectively. They were each given consolation prizes and certificates of participation.

Fuseini Wenawome Maria took the fourth position.

The ladies competed in dance choreography, talent display, and cultural display among others.

 Support for the girl child

In his closing remarks, Prince Bossman of Bossman Records thanked the gathering for helping to successfully pull off the pageantry.

He called for more support towards activities that help to develop and train the girl child to take up opportunities in the future.

Bossman also cautioned against stereotyping young girls who contest in beauty pageants, adding that, “these kinds of programmes help to train the young girls and prepare them for bigger platforms like Ghana Most Beautiful.”

He assured to continue to use the Miss Paga platform to nurture young girls with talent and interest in beauty pageantry to prepare them for bigger platforms.

This year’s Miss Paga was on the theme, ‘Good cultural practices should not be erased by religion’.

The heavily patronised event had legendary Felix Kondayire, fashion designer, Abdul-Rahim Ahmed and beauty queen, Pwadura Issabella Wesoamo as judges. 

Versatile Modelling Agency Boss, Rinner Ayelzoya, groomed the girls.

The event had performances from music acts such as Rapcha Pagabu, Jay Prince, Aphaska Omar, G-cliff, and Lyrical vibes, among others.
