Volta Region: NPP secretary aspirant wants to energise grassroots

Speaking to Asaase News, Yevoo said that if he is chosen as the party's regional secretary, he will make significant contributions to the 2024 polls

Pope Yao Yevoo, the Volta regional communications officer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), who is eyeing the regional secretary position has said the party’s grassroots must be “energised” to boost its chances of retaining power in 2024.

A nine-member committee has begun screening 36 candidates ahead of the regional delegates’ conference, which will be held at the end of May 2022.

The vetting will end on Thursday 19 May 2022.

Speaking to Asaase News, Yevoo said that if he is chosen as the party’s regional secretary, he will make significant contributions to the 2024 parliamentary and presidential elections.

He said he would “institute best performing polling station and constituency (officers) awards” to motivate party officers to work hard for victory in 2024.

He is contesting with four others for the position.
