VGMA: I deserve recognition, says Eno Barony

The Ghanaian rapper and songwriter says she has done a lot in the music industry worthy of recognition

The award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Ruth Eno Adjoa Amankwah Nyame Adom, known professionally by her stage name, Eno Barony, has expressed disappointment in the VGMA board over its failure to recognise female rappers in Ghana.

The artiste was surprised to have missed out on the best rapper and hip hop artiste of the year categories, adding that her song ‘Don’t judge me’ might have played a role in her not getting the much recognition she deserves.

“My songs have done very well this year under review,” Eno Barony said on Accra-based Hitz FM. “Check online charts, my songs have topped almost everywhere.”

“Awards don’t define me, Eno will still be Eno, it hurts because I have worked and deserve to be recognised but in all, we work harder.”

The ‘heavy load’ hit maker has given assurance to her fans of working harder to get the recognition she deserves in the next edition of VGMA.
