Upper West Region: Man slaughtered in Wa

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

A man in his thirties was found dead early Monday (15 July 2024), in yet another tragic incident in Wa in the Upper West Region.

The victim, who was a truck driver’s conductor (mate) handling bags of salt for delivery in Wa, met his untimely death at the hands of unknown assailants.

The truck driver, Naa Daud Suleman, recounting the ordeal, mentioned waking around 4:00 am for prayers with his family and assisting in the search.

They traced droplets of blood and found the victim a few meters away from where he had slept.

This marks the third murder under similar circumstances this year, prompting shock from the assembly member for the area, Zakaria Ibrahim.

He urgently called for interventions to address the escalating violence and proposed the immediate establishment of community watchdog groups to bolster security in Wa Municipality and its surroundings.
