Upper East Regional Minister calls for inclusive dialogue

Upper East Regional Minister, Donatus Akamugri Atanga, encourages residents to offer constructive criticism and positive ideas for regional development while rejecting slander and character attacks.

The Upper East Regional Minister, Donatus Akamugri Atanga, has urged residents to offer constructive criticism and contribute positive ideas toward the region’s development.

Addressing party supporters after his vetting, approval, and swearing-in, Atanga emphasised his openness to feedback but made it clear he would not tolerate slander or character attacks.

“I will not entertain backbiting. What I want is positive contribution. I am ready to receive anyone who comes forward to contribute toward the development of the Upper East Region. I would not want us to come and distract development,” he said.

Atanga assured residents of an open-door policy, stressing that his office serves the entire region, not just his political party.

“The Regional Minister’s office is not political. So, whether you are NDC or not, if you are from the Upper East Region, development for the region affects all of us. If there is a problem, it affects all of us. If anyone has an idea to move this region forward, they should come to me,” he stated.

Encouraging young party members, Atanga shared his own journey, revealing that he had been lobbying for the position since 2008, and urged them to remain committed and diligent in service.
