We never auctioned only 10 BVDs, says EC

The Electoral Commission (EC) has said the old and obsolete 2012 equipment was auctioned through legal

The Electoral Commission (EC) has debunked reports that it auctioned only 10 obsolete Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs) from 2012.

According to the EC, this is a “deliberate misrepresentation” of the 11-paragraph of its 26 April statement titled “Clarification on disposal of obsolete Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs).

The EC said the “old and obsolete 2012 equipment was auctioned through legal”.

A statement issued by the EC on Monday (29 April) said “The Commission will in due course release all documentation on the auction to the public”.
