UGMC successfully completes first set of six kidney transplant surgeries

According to the head of Urology at UGMC, Dr Emmanuel Asante, the procedures were performed seamlessly, showcasing the Centre’s capabilities in complex surgical interventions and post-operative care

The University of Ghana Medical Centre Ltd (UGMC) has successful completed its first set of six kidney transplant surgeries, an official statement has said.

The surgeries were performed under the leadership of a highly skilled and dedicated local and foreign medical team.

According to the head of Urology at UGMC, Dr Emmanuel Asante, the procedures were performed seamlessly, showcasing the Centre’s capabilities in complex surgical interventions and post-operative care.

A statement issued by UGMC on Sunday(30 June), said the Centre looks forward to continuing it’s mission of advancing health care standards and innovative practices in the field of transplantation.

“The University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) is proud to announce the successful completion of it’s first set of six kidney transplant surgeries.”
