Ghanaian musician, composer and songwriter Enoch Nana Yaw Oduro- Agyei, popularly known as Trigmatic, says it is important to foster collaboration in the arts space rather than competition.
Trigmatic, who is also the head of brands and partnerships at Africa Arts Network, said they have an agenda to project the African experience through all forms of arts across the continent.
Speaking on Asaase Artsy on Saturday (19 October) Trigmatic noted that “it’s about bringing Africans together. Using the power of art or using art as a tool.”
“So we’ve tried to become the bridge for Africa to come together using art, telling our stories through theatre, using and bringing back the love for theatre as well, not to say that it was completely dead,” he said ahead of the production, “You Play Me I Play You” .
The production features an exceptional cast, including Jeneral Ntatia (Ghana), Brain Jotter (Nigeria), and Clemento Suarez (Ghana), under the direction of Fiifi Coleman.
“But sort of rekindling it and also entertaining people. So as we are entertaining people; we’re also sharing the African story,” Trigmatic added.
This socio-cultural satire is a Ghana-Nigeria collaboration that promises to captivate audiences with its blend of humour, drama, and thought-provoking commentary on the cultural dynamics between the two nations.

“You Play Me, I Play You” will be staged at the National Theatre and the Bukoom Square Arena on 8 and 9 November.
