Bekwai NPP inaugurates campaign team; pledges to unite and ‘break the 8’

With Raphael Poku-Adusei leading the charge in Bekwai, the party says it stands ready to embark on a transformative journey towards a more prosperous constituency.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Bekwai, Ashanti Region has officially launched its campaign team for election 2024, marking the beginning of an energetic push towards the upcoming elections.

The inauguration ceremony, held on Wednesday (3 April) saw a gathering of party faithful, supporters and officials determined to propel the governing party to victory.

The parliamentary candidate Lawyer Ralph Poku-Adusei took centre stage during the inauguration. With passion and conviction, he spoke on the party’s aspirations, emphasising its commitment to bringing forth more development that will benefit the constituents and Ghanaians at large.

The Bekwai Constituency is a safe seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Political watchers say the emergence of an independent parliamentary candidate ahead of the 2024 polls cannot change the status quo. Lawyer Raphael Poku-Adusei, who corroborated this assertion said the campaign team will remain focused to ensure that the party’s votes are appreciated ahead of the crucial election.

“The tradition is that the Bekwai constituency is predominantly an NPP Constituency, and this is a fact. If you look at the emergence of an independent candidate in 2008 you realised that there was a little backing from the NPP then and this time that is not the case. This is an individual who just feels he can do it on his own…Once the person did not break away from the NPP currently, there shouldn’t be any problem”, he remarked.

“Our preparation as a party has firmed up and this time the campaign framework will be effective. Even though there was a fierce contest during the parliamentary primaries the likes of Joe Osei-Wusu, whose preferred candidate did not win, are now supporting this course and as a united front, the target is to ensure that Bekwai NPP wins the upcoming general election”, Poku-Adusei said.

The event was heavily attended by top party officials led by Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah. He used the occasion to advise party faithful to stay united and support the party to ‘break the 8’.

As the campaign season gains momentum, the NPP in the Bekwai Constituency is poised to make a compelling case to voters, presenting a vision of a Ghana that thrives under responsible and forward-thinking governance.

The inauguration ceremony concluded with optimism and purpose in the air, as supporters rallied behind the NPP’s mission to create a brighter future for all.

With Raphael Poku-Adusei leading the charge in Bekwai, the party says it stands ready to embark on a transformative journey towards a more prosperous constituency.
