A fatal accident occurred on Monday afternoon in Ho, resulting in the death of a 73-year-old woman and injuring several others, including schoolchildren and a father.
The crash involved a Mitsubishi pickup (registration number GJ 3226-21) and a Mahama Can-Do tricycle carrying passengers. The incident took place between the Kabore School junction on the Ring Road and Ho Snnit Flat junction.
Six victims, including schoolchildren, sustained life-threatening injuries and are receiving treatment at the Ho Municipal Hospital and Ho Teaching Hospital.
A swift response from the Ghana Ambulance Service and police helped save lives. Asaase News confirmed that all victims are in stable condition, though one student requires a CT scan due to a head injury.
Teachers from Kabore School and well-wishers visited the hospitals to support the victims, with donations made to assist with medical expenses.
Asaase news in an interview with some nurses assured that the injured are responding well to treatment. Meanwhile, the police have commenced investigations into the accident.
The deceased, identified as Josephine Amegboe, was on her way to a family meeting in Ho Dome after visiting her daughter, who recently gave birth. Police have launched an investigation into the accident.
