This year, I will give you an office in my palace – Ga Mantse to Tourism Authority
In addition to collaborative efforts for the Hɔmɔwɔ festival, the Ga Mantse highlighted the potential for tourism development in Accra

His Royal Majesty Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the GA Mantse, announced on 7th May 2025 his intention to provide the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) with office space in his palace this year.
This decision was made during a meeting with GTA officials, including the new chief executive officer of the Tourism Authority, Maame Efua Houadjeto, aimed at fostering collaboration for this year’s Hɔmɔwɔ festival.
Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II described his vision for the partnership.
“We want to raise this platform with you and collaborate to see how best we can even eradicate hunger within Ghana,” he said.
In addition to the collaborative efforts for the festival, the Ga Mantse highlighted the potential for tourism development in Accra.
He noted that many locations within the city possess significant tourism appeal and could generate revenue if refurbished. By establishing an office for the GTA at the palace, he aims to streamline efforts to enhance these sites, he said.
Maame Efua Houadjeto responded positively to the Ga Mantse’s proposal, emphasising that the GTA has already begun investing in various tourist attractions in Greater Accra.
“Some of the tourist sites in Greater Accra, GTA has already invested some money into [them]. One example is the Lighthouse, the tourism centre there.
“A few years ago we refurbished it, but our gentleman who took care of the place is no more, so the place hasn’t been well kept.
“We plan to go back and rehabilitate it,” she said.
