Full Text: Mahama speaks on Ghana’s economy

The former president urged the government to abolish or realign state institutions with similar functions while suspending non essential projects

Former President John Dramani Mahama addressed the nation on Thursday (27 October) at the UPSA Auditorium, in Accra.

Speaking on the ‘Building the Country We Want”, the former president touched on the country’s current economic challenges; high inflation rates and the depreciation of the cedi.

He urged the government to cut down on expenditure by reducing the number of appointees and ministers.

Mahama also urged the government to abolish or realign state institutions with similar functions while suspending non essential projects.
