Earth tremors of magnitude 3.5 felt in parts of Accra

Places that experienced the tremors included Santa Maria, Dansoman, Weija, Sowutuom, Adabraka, Gbawe, McCarthy Hill, Osu Ako Adjei and Mallam

Three earth tremors were recorded in Ghana’s capital, Accra on Monday (12 December), officials of the Geological Survey Authority have confirmed.

The tremors have been described as moderate with the highest magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale.

Places that experienced the tremors included Santa Maria, Dansoman, Weija, Sowutuom, Adabraka, Gbawe, McCarthy Hill, Osu Ako Adjei and Mallam.

The epicenter was located in the western part of Accra, 10-km from Gbawe, reports the state-owned Daily Graphic.
