NPP primaries: Minister for Youth and Sports wins Yagaba-Kubori

Mustapha Ussif was the only candidate who filed to contest the Yagaba-Kubori seat on the ticket of the NPP for the upcoming general elections on 7th December 2024

The Member of Parliament for the Yagaba-Kubori Constituency and the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has been endorsed as parliamentary candidate for the 2024 general elections after going unopposed.

Mustapha Ussif was the only candidate who filed to contest the Yagaba-Kubori seat on the ticket of the NPP for the upcoming general elections on 7 December 2024.

On Saturday (27 January 2024) a total of 376 delegates in the constituency unanimously agreed and confirmed the minister as their parliamentary candidate for the Yagaba-Kubori constituency.

“At the close of the nomination of candidates filed for the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary primaries, only one candidate successfully filed his nomination, had gone through the vetting process and have been found worthy to contest for the ticket of the NPP parliamentary come December 2024 for the Yagaba Kubori constituency.”

“At the end of the nomination on 26th December 2023 Alhaji Honorable Mustapha Ussif was the only one who filed his nomination,” Dauda Hashim declared.

The MP and the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, addressing the delegates after he was declared, assured the constituents that the seat will forever remain in the hands of the NPP and they will keep increasing the vote difference in the constituency.

“The Yagaba-Kubori seat will forever be in the hands of the NPP and we will continue to increase the gap. We will give them [the NDC] a very wide gap,” Mustapha said.

Mustapha also touted the immense development he brought to the constituency in his eight years in office and urged the constituents to vote for him and the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in the 2024 general elections.
