The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has closed nominations for the parliamentary primaries in the Savannah Region, where the party currently has no parliamentary representation, otherwise known as “orphan constituencies.”
Providing details of the nominations to Asaase News, the Savannah regional secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Mohammed Issah, said at the close of nominations on (10 August), 11 members of the party have filed to contest in the upcoming primaries.
The regional secretary, however, indicated that date for vetting of the aspirants will be communicated in due course.
Below are names of aspirants in the Savannah Region:
Bole Bamboe Constituency:

Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency:
(1) Sankara Kuubenee Ankaara

Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency:
(1) Amadu Zakaria
(2) Adam Bukari Fatawu Haruna
(3) Nbonwura I.K. Basiru
Salaga South Constituency
(1) Alidu Zakaria
(2) Hon. Salifu Adam Braimah
