Ashanti journalists energise for 2024 with MTN-sponsored health walk

The initiative, supported by telecom giant MTN Ghana, was organised by senior journalists to provide media practitioners with a chance to relieve stress and promote a healthy lifestyle

Journalists in the Ashanti Region have taken a proactive step towards maintaining good health and preparing for the challenges ahead in the coming year by participating in a health walk.

The initiative, supported by telecom giant MTN Ghana, was organised by senior journalists to provide media practitioners with a chance to relieve stress and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Acting commercial manager of MTN Northern business, Simon Amoh, stressed the importance of routine health breaks for journalists, given the potential health risks associated with their demanding jobs.

The health walk included aerobic sessions led by Warrant Officer Class One Austin Power of the Ghana Armed Forces, focusing on burning excess fat, proper nutrition, and staying physically active.

The journalists walked through various routes in Kumasi, accompanied by brass band music, and the event concluded with a football penalty shootout and refreshments.

Ashanti regional chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association, Kingsley Hope, expressed gratitude to MTN for supporting the exercise and encouraged continuous support for future initiatives.
