President Buhari sacks agric, power ministers in Nigeria

The minister of environment, Mohammed Mahmoud Abubakar, takes over agriculture, while Abubakar Aliu, minister of state for works, takes over from Mamman Sale as the minister of power

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has relieved the minister of agriculture, Mohammed Nanono, and the minister of power, Saleh Mamma, of their positions. The decision was disclosed by the president during the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.

The minister of environment, Mohammed Mahmoud Abubakar, takes over the Agriculture portfolio, while Abubakar Aliu, minister of state for works, takes over from Mamman Sale as the minister of power.

This is the first time President Buhari is taking such action in over six years of his civilian administration in Nigeria.
