Duffuor discontinues court case against 13 May NDC primaries

Dr Kwabena Duffuor had filed an application at the high court in Accra seeking an order to injunct the NDC primaries scheduled for Saturday 13 May

A flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Kwabena Duffuor, has discontinued his injunction application against the partyā€™s presidential and parliamentary primaries, scheduled to take place on Saturday (13 May).

Lawyers for Dr Duffuor told the court on Friday (12 May) that they have had instructions from the plaintiff that the Duffuor team has had discussions with NDC officials and has decided to discontinue the action.

Dr Duffuorā€™s campaign team had alleged that it has not been furnished with an accurate list of individuals who are supposed to take part in the 13 May presidential and parliamentary polls.

As such, he was requesting the court to put the elections on hold and direct the party to engage candidates on a roadmap towards drawing up an accurate list of voters.
