NPP: Delegates’ conference was successful

The conference afforded the party the opportunity to take stock of its activities in the year under review, particularly its performance in the 2020 general elections

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described the just ended national annual delegates’ conference as “successful”.

The conference afforded the party the opportunity to take stock of its activities in the year under review, particularly its performance in the 2020 general elections and to plan for the coming years.

A statement issued by the party on Monday (20 December) expressed gratitude to the Afenyo Markin-led Constitution Review Committee for its work on the various motions and proposals for amendment to the party’s constitution.

“The NPP wishes to express appreciation to the thousands of Party Delegates and all Invitees to the just ended 2021 National Annual Delegates Conference which was held successfully at the Heroes Park within the precinct of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi. The Conference which was, among other things, meant to take stock of the activities of the Party in the year under review particularly its performance in the 2020 General Elections and to plan for the coming years, achieved exactly that,” it said.

“Finally, the Party wishes to use this opportunity to commend the National Delegates Conference for accepting the proposal made by the Afenyo-Makin led Constitution Review Committee having regard to the prevailing exigency, and passing a Resolution mandating the Party’s second highest decision-making body, the National Council, to deliberate and take appropriate decisions, on its behalf, in respect of the various motions and proposals for amendment to the Party Constitution.”

“The NPP, once again, is grateful, and prays for travelling mercies for all attendees to the Conference,” the NPP statement added.

NPP IS GRATEFUL FOR A SUCCESSFUL DELEGATES CONFERENCE

The NPP wishes to express appreciation to the thousands of Party Delegates and all Invitees to the just ended 2021 National Annual Delegates Conference which was held successfully at the Heroes Park within the precinct of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi. The Conference which was, among other things, meant to take stock of the activities of the Party in the year under review particularly its performance in the 2020 General Elections and to plan for the coming years, achieved exactly that.

It was held on the theme: “NPP, Our Resolve, Our Determination and Commitment to Ghana’s Development”, in order to reflect the desires of Ghana towards mobilization of national energy around solutions. The theme thus, speaks to the Party’s true spirit of uniting the country around the singular effort of working closely with Ghanaians as we recover from the ravages from Covid-19 and rebuild our economy in new ways to feed into a future of shared growth and prosperity.

The Party is much thankful to the National Planning Committee which was led by Madam Rita Asobayire and all the subcommittees for doing an excellent job. The Party is also grateful to H.E. President Akufo-Addo and spouse, H.E. Vice President Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia and spouse, Ministers of State, MPs, MMDCEs, CEOs and other government officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps, the Security Agencies, the Media as well as representatives of other political parties that graced the occasion, and supported the organization of the Conference, in diverse ways.

More significantly, the Party, while commending our Members for wholly abiding by the directives given by the Steering Committee banning all forms of campaign for internal elections, is also enthused about the level of compliance with the Covid-19 vaccination and other health protocols it had put in place ahead of the Conference and wishes to commend all attendees for this great feat. We have again sent a clear message that, even in the midst of global challenges, the NPP was capable of showing the way to the rest of the World.

Finally, the Party wishes to use this opportunity to commend the National Delegates Conference for accepting the proposal made by the Afenyo-Makin led Constitution Review Committee having regard to the prevailing exigency, and passing a Resolution mandating the Party’s second highest decision-making body, the National Council, to deliberate and take appropriate decisions, on its behalf, in respect of the various motions and proposals for amendment to the Party Constitution.

The NPP, once again, is grateful, and prays for travelling mercies for all attendees to the Conference.

…Signed…

JOHN BOADU
GENERAL SECRETARY
