At least two people have been confirmed dead in a car crash at Walewale in the West Mamprusi municipality.

The incident occurred on Sunday (12 June) along the Tamale-Walewale route, when a Yutong VIP bus carrying  passengers from Bolgatanga to Accra drove over the two young men who died on the spot.

The deceased, Amadu Fuseini, 25, and Abubakar Mutawakilu, 24, were natives of Yama, a village in the West Mamprusi Municipality.

The conductor of the vehicle, Ayini David told Asaase News that his master (the driver) tried to swerve upon seeing the two but it was too late.

“We were going and my master saw them and blew the horn. There were even two motorbikes, the other one stopped but the other people crossed the road leading to the accident,” Ayini said.

The police have arrested the driver to assist in investigation.
