Nigerian woman’s car journey from London to Lagos interrupted by road accident in Liberia

Nigerian travel content creator, Pelumi Nubi experienced a car accident in Liberia during her solo road trip from London to Lagos

Nigerian woman Pelumi Nubi, driving from London to Lagos, has experienced a car crash in Liberia.

Pelumi, who has been on a solo road trip from London to Lagos since 31 January 2024, has been involved in an accident.

She shared this post on Instagram, showing her damaged car and asking her followers to pray for her. She had arrived in Liberia just 24 hours before the accident occurred.

Pelumi’s initial return date to Lagos was set for the 23rd of March 2024, but due to numerous challenges she had experienced throughout the journey, she postponed it to the 7th of April 2024.

Nubi arrived in Liberia on 24 March from Sierra Leone, making it the 11th country on her trip.

However, she spent two nights sleeping at the Liberian border because the Liberian immigration service disallowed her right-hand vehicle, which she calls ‘Lumi,’ to enter the country.

Eventually, Pelumi Nubi and Lumi were granted entry into Liberia, but her experience was swiftly interrupted by the devastating car accident.

Her travel experiences highlight the difficulty Africans face when migrating within Africa; this is further bolstered by the African Union’s recent release of the second edition of the African migration report, which indicated that migration has remained predominantly within the continent, as opposed to outside Africa.
