North East Region: MTN Ghana organises blood donation for Walewale Hospital

The blood donation took place at the Walewale Senior High Technical School and the Nalerigu Senior High School with students donating voluntarily to save lives

MTN Ghana organised a blood donation to boost the blood banks at the Walewale Government Hospital and the Nalerigu Baptist Medical Center in the North East Region on Wednesday (14 February).

The blood donation took place at the Walewale Senior High Technical School and the Nalerigu Senior High School with students donating voluntarily to save lives.

According to Adwoa Wiafe, the chief corporate services and sustainability officer at MTN Ghana Foundation, the target for this year was 7,000 units of blood.

“Through your generosity, we have witnessed remarkable achievements, with over 26,000 units of blood collected to date.”

“Following our comeback in 2023 due to a two-year break as a result of COVID, our campaign yielded positive results with 6,440 units, the highest so far since inception in 2011.”

The organisation shows appreciation to the blood donors who voluntarily donated their blood to save lives and also urges those who are willing to donate to do so to support the blood bank.

“I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to all blood donors, especially MTN staff and partner schools. Your selfless contributions have served as lifelines for those in need.”

“To those yet to embark on this journey of giving, I urge you to consider the transformative power of your actions—every donation has the potential to be a precious gift of life.”

“Blood is one of the most priceless gifts one can give to another and it is one of the greatest gifts we can give during Valentine’s season.”
