Amakye Dede: Pastors are now using my songs in their sermons

The “Iron Boy” hit maker, who has been in the music career for decades, said he does not compromise on quality when it comes to producing music

Ghanaian pastors are now using my lyrics in their sermons because of the depth and inspiration behind my songs, veteran Ghanaian highlife musician, Amakye Dede, has said.

The “Iron Boy” hit maker, who has been in the music career for decades, said he does not compromise on quality when it comes to producing music.

“I have many songs that even pastors use in their sermons,” Amakye Dede said on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday (14 June). “I don’t write songs for the sake of writing. I write music to teach and inspire.”

“I was born and raised in Agogo. I left after middle school because I wanted to pursue my music,” he told show host Kwaku Nhyira-Addo.

He added: “I went to audition to join Akwasi Ampofo Agyei’s crew and after singing one of his songs, he hired me on the spot.”
