Stonebwoy: Real estate is my next business venture

The dancehall and Afropop musician says he loves buildings hence his passion to venture into the real estate business

The Ghanaian dancehall and Afropop musician Stonebwoy has said he would love to venture into real estate business soon in addition to music.

It comes barely two years after his main rival Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, started the lucrative real estate business.

“It is right to only be able to build an interest, real estate is something … I love buildings. The thing is that I love buildings, and other things as well – other forms of business,” the ‘Anloga Junction’ hitmaker told Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on The Asaase Breakfast Show on Monday (20 December).

Stonebwoy who recently performed at the climax of Kusi Ideas Festival also hinted of plans to collaborate with four-time Grammy award winner Angélique Kidjo or 2Baba soon.

I’m now a student

Stonebwoy in an earlier interview said he is now a student of public administration at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

The dancehall artiste earlier cut short his education at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), where he was studying business administration, to pursue a career in music.

Speaking on Citi TV on Wednesday (3 November), Stonebwoy said he decided to pursue public administration because of his passion for the course.

“I think I am making good friends over there [GIMPA]. I contribute nicely because I think public administration is one area I would love to learn and progress – it has to do with the public,” he said.

Stonebwoy asked that systems be created to afford personalities such as himself the opportunity to return to the lecture hall to further their education.

According to him, it is the desire of many of his colleagues in the music industry to return and make a positive impact onn the development of the country, and not only through music.
