Stephen Amoah, MP for Nhyiaeso and a key member of Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign team, has expressed confidence that the Assin Central MP will secure victory in the upcoming NPP flagbearer elections.
Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Friday (29 August), Amoah credited what he called “organic support” from party grassroots as evidence of Agyapong’s growing momentum.
“Honestly, if you analyse all the relevant variables, he’s going to win this election without any difficulty. The signs are on the wall. Almost every stakeholder group is saying if you bring Kennedy Agyapong, they will vote for the NPP,” Amoah stated.
Addressing concerns about Agyapong’s temperament, Amoah dismissed them as distractions. “We live in a country where important factors that can transform us are brushed aside for trivialities.”
“Everyone has temperament. But Kennedy Agyapong has never been tagged a thief, corrupt, or a murderer. What people say about him is that he is benevolent and strong-willed,” he explained.
He emphasised that Agyapong’s decades-long political record and commitment to Ghana’s development make him the right candidate to unite the NPP and win national power.
