You are a mentor and a strong pillar , Amewu tells Chief Imam

Amewu beat his main contender Prof. Margaret Kweku to secure the Hohoe parliamentary seat to the camp the governing NPP, for the first time since the beginning of the 4th republic.

Peter Amewu, the Member of Parliament elect for the Hohoe Constituency has expressed gratitude to  the Chief Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu for his immense contribution  towards his victory in the 7 December elections.

The MP who doubles as Minister of Energy who visited the Chief Imam at his residence described the Chief Imam as a mentor and strong pillar in his journey so far.

He posted on Facebook “I visited the national Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu at his residence to thank him for his support, prayers and guidance towards my quest to represent the people of Hohoe in parliament.”

Amewu added “He has been a father, a mentor and a strong pillar to count on throughout the journey. I am very grateful. As-salamu alaykum !”.

The Chief Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu also used the opportunity to pray for the MP-elect for the Hohoe constituency.

Victory

John Peter Amewu secured a historic win in the just ended parliamentary elections with 5,131 vote margins.

Amewu beat his main contender from the NDC’s Prof. Margaret Kweku to secure  the  seat to the camp the governing NPP, for the first time since the beginning of the 4th republic.

He polled 26,952 votes as against the NDC’s 21,821 votes, overturning the party’s almost 29,000 vote deficit in the 2016 elections to clinch the historic feat.
