Billie Richardson, a seasoned wellness coach, has urged individuals to have a gratitude list to help them improve and become better in 2022.
Talking to Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on The Asaase Breakfast Show on Monday (3 January), Richardson advised Ghanaians to focus more on the positives and be thankful, rather than being obsessed with only the negatives in life.
“What we need to do on a daily basis is to have a gratitude list. If we focus on gratitude, we tend to focus less on what we don’t have and what we did wrong,” the holistic therapist said.
“I believe that we get more of what we focus on, so if we continue to focus on the other things we didn’t do right, we are going to get more of that, because we are going to be obsessed over it.”
Richardson added: “So, you focus on gratitude; therefore, you become a better person tomorrow than you are today and today you’re better than you were yesterday. And also, not to be in denial but to be self-aware and also to forgive yourself.”

Speaking on the same show, Dr Naa Asheley Dodor, a chiropractor, said: “Where are you now? Once you know where you are then you can come up with a roadmap as to where you want to get to.”

“The problem we have here is that everybody wants to be spoonfed and so you get stuck in that mould,” Dr Dodor said.
“So, when you are not ready to step out on your own [and the people helping you stop] then you are in trouble,” she added.
