SSNIT increases 2025 pension indexation rate by 12%
The 12% increment will help pensioners maintain their purchasing power amid inflation.

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has announced a 12% increase in monthly pension payments for 2025, effective January.
This increase helps pensioners maintain their purchasing power amid inflation.
The pension adjustment includes an 8% fixed rate and a flat amount of GHS 72.58. The remaining 4% is distributed to support low-income pensioners, ensuring a fair distribution of the increase.
Under the new scheme, the lowest pensioners will receive GHS 396.58, a 32.19% increase from 2024. Meanwhile, the highest pensioners under PNDCL 247 will receive up to GHS 201,792.37, and those under Act 766, GHS 28,703.01.
The SSNIT 2025 indexation is designed to maintain the real value of pensions, helping pensioners keep up with inflation and rising costs. The adjustment is based on factors like average salaries, CPI, and affordability.
SSNIT continues to adjust pensions annually to ensure financial security for retirees. Pensioners are advised to stay informed by visiting SSNIT’s official website for updates on their 2025 pension payments.
