The Sissala Council of Chiefs has expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of eight government and military officials who perished in a tragic helicopter crash on 13 August 2025.
In a statement signed by Kuoro Abu Diaka Sukabe Ninia V, Paramount Chief of Zini and Interim PRO/Secretary for the Council, the chiefs and people of the Sissala area said they received the news “in dismay and with heavy hearts.”
The crash, which claimed the lives of top government officials and military personnel, occurred while the victims were on national duty. The Council described them as “eight irreplaceable sons of Ghana” whose patriotism, dedication, and sacrifice should continue to inspire future generations.
“Their sacrifice to the nation is a legacy that will find the recognition it deserves in the sight of the Almighty,” the statement read.
The chiefs extended their condolences to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the bereaved families, and the people of Ghana, urging the nation to rally behind the government and the grieving families with prayers and support.
They also offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
“We pray the Good Lord to comfort the bereaved families and grant the souls of our sons eternal peace and rest. May their souls rest in peace,” the statement concluded.
