Singapore Airlines (SIA) has delivered a stunning financial performance for the fiscal year 2024–2025, posting a net profit of US$2.1 billion (S$2.8 billion) — the highest in the company’s history.
The bumper results are being celebrated not just by investors but also by the airline’s workforce. In line with a profit-sharing agreement with staff unions, the company will disburse bonuses equivalent to about 8 months of salary to its 18,000 employees.
According to analysts, the strong performance was driven by resurgent travel demand across Asia, as countries continue to bounce back from post-pandemic disruptions. A one-time S$1.1 billion gain from the merger of Vistara with Air India also significantly boosted the bottom line.
“This is not just a win for shareholders, but also a testament to the people who kept us flying through the toughest times,” said an SIA spokesperson.
The airline industry has faced turbulence in recent years, but SIA’s strategic focus on premium service, efficient fleet management, and its expanding regional network has clearly paid off. The carrier also noted that load factors and passenger yields remained strong throughout the year.
As the global aviation sector continues to stabilize, SIA’s results signal renewed confidence in long-haul and premium travel markets, particularly in and out of Asia.
With further integration of operations under the Tata Group’s airline portfolio and ongoing fleet renewal, SIA is well-positioned to maintain momentum in the coming year.
