Nana Adjoa Adobea Khartey, a former director of the National Folklore Board (NFB), has said working at the board made her resilient.
Khartey who currently works as secretary to the National Communication Authority (NCA) recounted how working at the under-resourced board, challenged her to turn things around in three-years.
Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday (13 March) Khartey expressed gratitude to some personalities who have contributed to her career growth in diverse ways.
“…I did a lot of things that tested my resilience because I had to appear before a committee in Parliament and explain a lot of things. I had to deliver results and ensure anybody who took over does not go through the hardship that I went through, so that built my resilience,” she said.
“Now there are a lot of things that have come my way and I know how to navigate it, as I joke around, the Foklore board turned me into a professional fundraiser.”
Khartey added, “…Because I had to go round and lobby for a law to be passed, lobbied for funds and some form of subvention for the National Folklore Board.”
