Saying all men cheat is a slap to those who don’t — Obomengniibaa Nana Akua responds to 2Baba

Ghanaian radio host Obomengniibaa Nana Akua has ignited conversation after weighing in on Nigerian music icon 2Baba’s recent remarks about male fidelity.

On her AsaasePa 107.3 show Penpensiwa, she challenged what she called a damaging narrative: the claim that men are not naturally wired for monogamy.

“Saying men cannot stick to one woman is tired, and it’s a huge blow to men with integrity. Faithful men exist, and it’s unfair to generalise all men based on a few.”

Her response was in reply to 2Baba’s appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, where he stated that it is “biologically difficult for a man to be with just one woman.” Though the musician later apologized, Nana Akua questioned the sincerity of his words.

“He’s said the same thing before on the reality show Young, Famous & African while married to Annie Idibia. And now he’s remarried to lawmaker Natasha Osawaru. An apology doesn’t mean much when you keep repeating your beliefs.”

2Baba, who shares children with multiple women, is now married to Nigerian lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, a union confirmed publicly in May 2025.

She further highlighted the unfair burden on women in relationships:

“Most women think they can win a man’s heart by over loving him. But when a man is truly in love, you don’t have to bend over backwards, sacrifice yourself emotionally, or pray non stop to keep a marriage alive. A man stays because he wants to, not because you overproduce love.”

Obomengniibaa Nana Akua’s comments have struck a chord in public discourse, challenging entrenched assumptions and reaffirming that fidelity is a matter of choice, not biology.
