Valentine’s Day: MTN Ghana’s blood donation initiative sees strong public participation in Ashanti Region

The donation exercise took place across all 16 regions, with the Ashanti Region hosting activities at Bonwire, KNUST, and Asanteman Senior High School, in partnership with the Blood Bank Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

MTN Ghana Foundation on Friday 14 February held its annual ‘Save a Life’ blood donation campaign, aiming to collect 6,110 units of blood to support the National Blood Service and regional hospitals.

Since its inception in 2011, the initiative has contributed over 29,000 units to address blood shortages nationwide.

The donation exercise took place across all 16 regions, with the Ashanti Region hosting activities at Bonwire, KNUST, and Asanteman Senior High School, in partnership with the Blood Bank Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

MTN’s Senior Manager, General Trade, Northern Ghana, Simon Amoh reaffirmed the company’s commitment to healthcare and encouraged the public to mark Valentine’s Day by donating blood to save lives.

“If people stay healthy that is where they are able to undertake economic activities and get commercial minds to patronise our products and services”, he noted.

He pledged the company’s commitment to sustaining the initiative, emphasizing that it aligns with the health pillar of the MTN Ghana Foundation.
