The Black Stars have arrived in Qatar, resplendent in their fugus, to prepare for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to kick off on Sunday (20 November).

On Thursday the Black Stars beat Switzerland 2-0 in their last international friendly match before the tournament.

Scores of Ghanaians lined the streets to welcome the Otto Addo-led side, who were beaming with confidence ahead of their first match against Portugal on 24 November.

ā€œThe one who advised the Black Stars to dress in smock really deserves commendation,ā€ said Juliet Sokuu, an elated Ghanaian, writing on Facebook. ā€œI am glad we are showcasing something beyond kente and I pray it doesn’t stop here. We have so much diversity to offer.ā€

ā€œWe have touched down in Qatar in elegance,ā€ said Michael Oti Adjei, a sports journalist, also posting on Facebook. ā€œThe Black Stars are ready for the 2022 FIFA World Cup,ā€
