Residents of Kpone-Dawhenya threaten demonstration over deplorable roads

Residents of Kpone-Dawhenya in the Greater Accra region are agitating over deplorable road networks in the area.

They say the traffic situation on the Kpone- Dawhenya stretch is suffocating, leading to a series of car accidents, thus causing heavy traffic congestion.

Some residents who spoke to Asaase News explained that the government has awarded the construction of the road to a construction company but the contractor’s activity on the road suddenly stopped without any explanation.

“The road is so bad. It’s been damaging our cars and we have to spend so much to fix our them,” a driver said.

Stressing on the frustrations and emotions they had to go through daily had forced some of them to prematurely retire.

They are therefore appealing to the government to come to their aid while hinting at a possible demonstration should the government fail to heed their plea.
