Ghana could be one of the beneficiaries of the Stadiums assembled to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar following a meeting between Ghana’s Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif and His Excellency Salah bin Ghanim Al-Ali, Qatar’s Minister for Culture and Sports.

Qatar’s proposal is to donate demountable grandstand seats to countries in need of sporting infrastructure, thereby supporting the creation of a strong legacy of football development.

Hon Ussif in a meeting with Salah bin Ghanim Al-Ali, therefore, requested the infrastructure support for Ghana in terms of logistics, technical, and if possible, a donation of 1 of the stadiums after the world cup.

He visited the 3-2-1 Olympic and Sports Museum where he learned some history and also had the opportunity of studying their maintenance manual and revenue generation policy.

Aspire Academy

Hon Mustapha Ussif visited the Aspire Academy and was impressed with the Academy’s success, something he intends to replicate in Ghana. He emphasized that these organizations have extensive experience which will be beneficial to Ghana.

The partnership between Saad Football Team and a Club in Ghana

Hon. Ussif enquired about the possibility of a partnership between the Saad Football Team and any Local Team in Ghana. He suggested that this be facilitated at the governmental level and that once it matures, the respective clubs could carry on. He requested that a technical team could be sent by the Ghanaian clubs to Qatar for in-depth training and skills acquisition to the benefit of the 2 clubs.
