PHOTOS: Asaase Radio hosts Kormifest 2.0 in Accra

On Wednesday (6 March) Kenkey lovers converged at the forecourt of Asaase Radio in Cantonments to celebrate Ghana's 67th Independence Day celebration

Asaase 99.5 Accra on Independence Day (6 March) celebrated Kormifest, also known as Kenkey Fest brought together Kenkey lovers and saw a range of fun activities.

The event had all kinds of kenkey from Ga Kenkey, Fante Kenkey, Millet Kenkey and others with different proteins.

Patronage was high on the day with people from all walks of life converging at the Asaase Radio forecourt in Cantonments.

 

Kenkey, also known as dokono in Twi and kormi in Ga, is a staple dish in Ghana. It is made up of fermented corn sometimes cassava dough, wrapped in corn leaves.

Kenkey is enjoyed with a range of accoutrements usually fried seafood such as red fish, octopus, tiny fish also known as one-man thousand, shrimps and many other proteins with pepper.
