Prosper Narteh Ogum has left his role as coach of the Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko.
According to reports, the former West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) trainer, who is currently with the Black Galaxies team preparing for their African Championship of Nations (CHAN) qualifier against Bénin, announced his decision to leave the club on Wednesday (20 July 2022) during a meeting with the board.
Ogum was appointed before the start of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season and successfully targeted the League title for Kotoko.
He amassed 67 points from 34 games as the Porcupine Warriors beat Medeama to the League title.
Many Kotoko followers, who have generally reacted with shock to the news, are hoping that management can persuade Coach Ogum to rescind his decision ahead of their club’s participation in the CAF Champions League.
